Mini tutorial: Glow effects in SAI by secret-pony Mini tutorial: Glow effects in SAI by secret-pony
Apparently glowing effects are a mystery to a lot of people,
but they're so easy! So here you go!

Apologies for the lame layout, I didn't want to use any more complex backgrounds to bring out the effects to their fullest.
Also apologies for typo's

If you're looking for more resources for drawing (ponies), check out my other tutorials:

I never use any other program but SAI, so I can't tell you how to do glow effects in PS, Gimp, etc...
(and I don't want to know either)

Just default settings, vary transparency with how strong of a glow is needed. :nod:

I used 100% glow for my airbrush but it just blocked out the drawing

Are you using a tablet with pen pressure?
What do your "normal" airbrush strokes look like?

Yes. It isn't transparent enough

Can you show me some screenshots of your brush strokes?
It's hard to determine what's wrong without seeing it ^^;

Seems pretty normal, actually.
The color of the glow often takes over the color of the thing below it. :nod:

You can try using different colors, one's more covering than the other.
Or you can do the glowy bits only at the edges by erasing the inside of the glow (set the airbrush tool to transparant).
